This July, Brisbane locals will get to enjoy some of the sunniest days on the continent—ideal weather for a picnic celebrating all things gourmet if you ask us. Thankfully, the pop-up food and drink-filled event, Providore Park, is set to take over Roma Street Parkland from 8–9 July. Here, you’ll be able to experience culinary delights of all kinds, all while basking in that gorgeous winter sun. So brush off your favourite shopping basket and gather your best mates, this one's going to be one of the tastiest times of the year. The best bit? Entry is free.
When you arrive at Providore Park, head straight to The Village—a food lover's utopia offering artisanal food, drinks, and gourmet delights from local producers. Here, you can chat with passionate producers from across the country while you savour some of the best cheeses, chocolates, antipasti, seafood, pastries and more. There’ll be a healthy selection of wines, cocktails, beers, and alcohol-free beverages to sample to please most palates, too.
Once you've fuelled up on snacks and sips, settle in at a table in the sunshine and enjoy live tunes all afternoon. Consider yourself a bit of a demon on the dance floor? Make sure you check out the DJ sets later on in the day to get your fix.
While entry to Providore Park is free, there are also ticketed extras that are also worth signing up for. Book yourself a spot at The Conservatory's masterclass sessions, where you can learn the fine art of creating the perfect food and drink pairings. You can also check out Picnic Society, where you’ll be met with a Chandon Garden Spritz on arrival (as you should), plus a delectable range of antipasto before cracking open a bottle of Chandon Brut, Rosé or Garden Spritz with your mates. Love some healthy competition with your crew? You can also get involved in a few games at the Croquet Club if you’re looking to get a little movement into your day of decadence.
For the ultimate experience at Providore Park, secure yourself a spot at the Chandon Secret Garden. Here you’ll have all-day access to the VIP area, as well as a private bar and views of the main stage. There are also plenty of goodies on offer in this VIP area, including tantalising tasting platters, bubbles, and to top it all off, a gift bag for you to take home.
