Because we can’t go adding a splash of vodka to our daily flat white (seriously, this will get you fired—don’t do it. Unless you work for yourself then whatever), some genius actually invented a beverage that combined the two: enter, the not-so-humble espresso martini.
And, frankly, why should it be humble? Short of adding sparklers and paper umbrellas, no other drink gets us quite as revved (literally), so of course your fave cocktail deserves its own festival! And, that’s exactly what’s happening! Oh s**t!
Brisbane’s inaugural Espresso Martini Festival will be held in achingly cool laneway, Fish Lane—proof that this will be no half-arsed event—, kicking off your Tuesday night with a bang. Now, before you get your weekday knickers in a twist, it’s the EKKA holiday eve, which means no work for you and no curfew. Just you, your besties and an espresso martini (or three…).
To that end, no less than five unique espresso martinis will be being served on the night from a slew of pop-up bars, manned by the ever-talented bartenders from Brooklyn Standard.
And, being the responsible adults that we are, food is no afterthought here, heck no: expect delicious Vietnamese eats courtesy of laneway love, Hello Please throughout the night.
As if you needed to read all that. We had you at espresso martini…
