In exciting news for surf and Bintang lovers, Virgin Australia will take off with the first-ever Gold Coast to Bali flights from today, Wednesday 29 March, finally directly connecting the two iconic holiday destinations.

If that wasn’t exciting enough already, to celebrate the new flight path, Virgin Australia has dropped fares from as low as $419 return between the Gold Coast and Denpasar. You can snag these ridiculously cheap flights until midnight Monday 3 April 2023, but they’re expected to be snapped up quickly.

The highly-demanded new route will offer more than 2,200 seats between Bali and the Gold Coast each week at peak times, with a total of over 90,000 seats a year.

The six-and-a-half-hour direct route, which is one of the most highly anticipated new short-haul international services, has resulted in strong demand from holidaymakers since it was announced in June last year.

Virgin Australia Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, Alistair Hartley said the new services will provide Gold Coasters with greater convenience, choice and value for their next Bali holiday.

“Until now, services between Gold Coast and Bali have never been operated by any commercial airline, making this another milestone for Virgin Australia and our guests,” he said.

“It is clear Australians want to get out and travel and have a wonderful experience along the way. The expansion of the Virgin Australia network to include direct flights between the Gold Coast and Bali reflects this."

Bonus news for surfies—you will be even able to bring a standard surfboard on the Gold Coast to Bali flights without paying any extra costs.

Now that you'e got your flights sorted, plan your itinerary with the ultimate Bali must-do list.
