Winter has made its imminent arrival in Brisbane and whether you’re a fan or not, once again, most days are extra chilly and the dark mornings are making it harder to get out of bed. But to make the most of the season and the break from the heat, the Regatta Hotel has jumped on the opportunity and is creating the perfect winter city spot.
Transforming the Regatta Hotel’s open-air courtyard into the winter escape of our dreams, is their new Winter in the Vineyards pop-up. Spend the afternoon surrounded by the colours and sights of the season while snacking on perfect winter foods.
Completely mouthwatering, the antipasto menu will be full of seasonal food to keep you warm from afternoon to evening. Baked brie and goats cheesecake in a sesame pastry crust are the menu’s top hits or you can get a Ploughman’s picnic for two with share plates and some of the best wine on the Regatta’s shelf.
The food sounds delicious, but the real attraction is the mulled wine. Everyone loves a glass of mulled wine on a cold winter’s evening and every Sunday at the Regatta Hotel until the end of the season you will be spoilt for choice. The Winter in the Vineyards pop-up will be boasting a mulled wine cart with four flavours to choose from. Take your pick from classic mulled wine, mulled apple cinnamon cider, hot honey mead or mulled rosé. How you’ll choose one, we don’t know but you can always go back for more.
While the mulled wine cart will only be available on Sundays from 2pm-6pm, you can enjoy the food and atmosphere of the festival from 11.30am every Wednesday to Sunday for the next few months. And the best part? You don’t need to book, just take a stroll into the pop-up vineyard and settle into the winter paradise.
