If you’ve not heard of Bribie’s Sandstone Point Holiday Resort and neighbouring Sandstone Point Hotel, it’s about time you did. This holiday spot has quite a cult following with South East Queensland holiday makers and visitors from further afield—and it's just got a whole lot better.
Six luxury overwater villas located on a swim-up dam will be open to the public from Saturday 23 December 2023. Each featuring three bedrooms, the luxe villas will be perched over a huge swimming lagoon designed for both swimming and biodiversity (so yes, there will be fish you can swim among in the lagoon).
If that wasn't cool enough already, all six overwater villas will have their very own 5,000 litre heated plunge pool partially submerged in the lake, as well as an indoor fireplace. Additionally, each villa has an open-plan kitchen, two bathrooms, luxe amenities and two dedicated car spaces.

The overwater cabins will open out to a deck and outdoor dining area with their very own heated plunge pools, daybeds, sun lounges and BBQ, overlooking lake-views. A ladder hangs from the deck, offering direct access to the natural swimming hole and privacy screens to keep out prying eyes.
Who needs the Maldives? Bookings are now exclusively open to guests who previously subscribed to the waitlist, and bookings will open to the public on Friday 22 December 2023 at 9am. Set your alarm because these villas are set to book out months in advance.

Meanwhile, over at the Sandstone Point Hotel, it now boasts a bustling Oyster Shed Beach Bar, where you'll find fresh seafood, a cocktail bar, fire pits and day beds, all surrouned by palm trees and water views. That’s on top of the massive hotel’s other bar and restaurant options—there’s a reason this spot was named Hotel of the Year by QHA in 2021.
Add to that the plentiful quiet beaches around Bribie where you can swim and fish and you’ve got yourself an easy weekend getaway that still packs a punch. You can scope out the resort and book your summer getaway here.
