8 Places To Call Home On A Short-Term Stay In Brisbane

By Georgia Condon

There’s no place like home… which is why it’s so important to choose accommodation that will be both practical and comfortable when you need to hit BrisVegas for a short-term stay.

While most of Brisbane’s major attractions and amenities are found in the city’s centre (or just across the river), sometimes you want to be based a little closer to work, friends or family, so we’ve gathered eight great places where you’ll be happy to rest your head during a short-term stay in Brisbane.

Level 26 Apartment

South Brisbane (Central)

When in Brisbane, take in the Brown Snake, we say. This spot’s main feature is its incredible 180-degree views of the river, but it’s also a real all-rounder for a short-term stay. You can settle in with a study area, full kitchen and laundry, and secure parking, and the great location gives you access to all the fun on offer in South Bank, West End and the City. Plus, there’s a pool, hot tub and sauna to chill in after a long day. You can learn more here.

Good for: four guests, public transport access, enjoying the nightlife

Two-Bedroom Apartment

Fortitude Valley (Central)

While the City takes care of business, neighbouring suburb Fortitude Valley is where all the after-dark action takes place. This spot plants you smack-bang in the middle of the Valley, with two spacious bedrooms and bathrooms that leaves enough room for a party of six. While there’s one secure car park included, you’re in a prime position to jump on Brisbane’s main bus and train routes, including the airport line. Did we mention the two pools, two spas, gym, movie room and incredible rooftop lifestyle areas? Read more here.

Good for: six guests, enjoying the nightlife, public transport access

Cottage With A Pool

Toowong (Inner West)

When in Queensland, stay in a Queenslander! This 1920s property comes with all the fixings like a nine-metre pool, verdant yard and three bedrooms, so you’ll have plenty of room while still being an easy six kilometres from the CBD. Relax after a long day in the vintage tub, chill out on the verandah, and charge up your electric vehicle, if need be. And yes, it’s pet friendly. You can get more info here.

Good for: exploring the west side, having your own space, four guests

Vintage-Style Queenslander

Auchenflower (Inner West)

110-year-old Queenslander complete with vintage furniture and lots of lovable touches (see: espresso machine, quirky artworks, pastel-tiled bathtub), it'd be hard NOT to feel at home here. Auchenflower is close to a lot of the action with lifestyle hub Paddington and Suncorp Stadium just over the hill, and the river (and its stunning strolls and CityCat) a brief walk away.
