It’s fair to say there has been plenty of hype around the Summer Sounds Festival from Adelaide and Melbourne music goers, with 40,000 tickets sold already. Well guess what Brisbane—it’s just been announced you’ll be able to bop around to some of Australia’s best musical talent too, with the festival heading our way next month.
Kicking off on Friday 23 April at the chilled out location of Riverstage, you don’t want to miss out on this one. The best part? It’s spread out over four days from 23 April to 3 May, allowing you time to recover, reset and re-think your dance moves between your favourite artists.
With the charged energy of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Tropical Fuck Storm and The Murlocs, day one will be the spark that ignites the other three days of the festival. After you’ve rocked out to these artists, you’ll be coming back for more on Friday 30 April as Melbourne electronic band The Avalanches take you through their latest whimsical album We Will Always Love You.
If that isn’t enough to grab your attention, Summer Sounds is your ticket to exactly what you’ve been missing during COVID. You guessed it, moshing. Buckle up because there is no better sound to re-enter the dancefloor to, than moshpit Kings themselves, Violent Soho. At last, prepare yourself for the final hurrah of Summer Sounds on Monday 3 May as Ball Park Music hit the stage, because is it really a music festival without them?
Put it in your diary, set an alarm, message the group chat, and do what you need to do because presale tickets are released today and general tickets are released on Thursday 25 March. For the full line up and ticket details click here.
