Make sure your phone has full charge, plenty of empty storage and that you’ve picked out your favourite floral ‘fit, because the Scenic Rim’s beloved sunflower farm has reopened their gates to welcome visitors back this spring for a glimpse (or multiple Insta stories) of their 80,000 beautiful, blooming sunflowers.

Yep, Mother Nature has taken her time this year,  but finally everyone’s favourite, sun-chasing flowers are emerging once again to spread their golden petals and from next weekend (30 October), you can go and see them for yourself at Kalbar Sunflower Farm. Take the fam, a BFF, or your furry friend on a roadtrip and bear witness to the astonishing fields of gold.

Over the next three weekends (more if they extend their open days), you have full permission to wander the fields and take all the selfies in the fields you like as long as you've booked a ticket in advance, and you can even pick your own bunch of sunflowers while you're at it.

Once you've had enough of sunflowers (is there such a thing?), grab a bite to eat and your daily caffeine fix from one of the many coffee and food vans that will be located onsite or pre-book a picnic box for a delectable taste of some local produce. Visit the Sunflower Shop for a range of unique, sunflower-themed items, from hats to candles and plant-your-own sunflower seeds. Early birds can embrace your inner yogi and join Lou from Kalbar Yoga at 6am for Yoga in the Sunflowers on Sunday 31 October.

This place is synonymous with Insta-worthy pics and Pinterest-esque photoshoots, but fear not if photography is not your strong point, Sarah from Three Finns Photography has got you covered, running mini family photo shoots during the farm’s open days.

Ready to see the happiest flowers in the world in all their glory? Head to Kalbar Farm’s website to find out all the deets and book your farm visit tickets here.
