A Newly Revitalised Dining And Entertainment Precinct Is Launching In Ipswich This Month
Ipswich locals will soon have a new-look rendezvous where they can eat and play overlooking the Bremer River in The Link.
The newly revitalised precinct is transforming Riverlink Shopping Centre’s East Mall into an expanded multi-use space for retail, dining, entertainment and community-focused events right by the riverfront.
Alongside existing eateries and the cinema, the $150,000 makeover is also lighting up the precinct after dark with an interactive all-ages play zone that includes LED see-saws, a free-to-play illuminated ping pong table, and neon-lit installations like furniture and sculptures. There are also two stage areas for free entertainment and live music.

Plus, in very exciting news for those who can never decide where to eat, The Link will feature a large alfresco dining area where you can order across the precinct from QR codes on the table. Yep, that means you can get a milkshake from Ruby Chews, a bowl of pasta from Gnocchi Gnocchi Brothers and a sweet treat from Baskin Robbins to finish—without moving an inch.
The Link officially launches this Saturday 23 May with the precinct coming to life from 5pm to 9pm featuring roaming performers, pop-up bars and even a live graffiti artist creating a large-scale work before your eyes. Once launched, The Link will be the place to be for future community events, from trivia to karaoke nights.
“The Link is something we’ve been working on for the past couple of years, as we’ve seen the Ipswich area grow,” said Riverlink Shopping Centre Acting Centre Manager, Jamie Sneyd. “It’s more than a collection of restaurants—it’s a precinct built for the community to enjoy throughout the day and night.”
