Bamboo Basket

At South Bank's Chinese restaurant Bamboo Basket, we're talking every kind of dumpling under the sun. With an open kitchen, you can watch the skills of the chefs, rolling noodles and pancakes, folding dumplings and packing them into small bamboo baskets. We recommend Bamboo Basket's Xiao Long Bao, or soup dumplings. Defying logic, the paper-thin, silky pastry somehow hold the soup and chicken inside—it's dumpling magic! Dressed with a fine julienne of raw ginger and a splash of vinegar, these are pretty much heaven on earth.
