Your next memorable night out can be found underground, as the Boom Boom Room marks a new chapter led by music, burlesque and show-stopping cocktails.
The iconic late-night destination by Ghanem Group (Blackbird, Donna Chang, Iris) has shifted from izakaya to supper club, serving modern Asian flavours made for dramatic impact, like the steamed lobster siu mai with ginger and lemongrass broth poured from a clear glass teapot. For mains, expect to turn up the heat with the likes of rendang beef curry and BBQ whole barramundi with chilli, nước chấm and fresh herbs. Then for dessert, Korean deep-fried milk with strawberries and chocolate fondue or matcha affogato with Vietnamese coffee gelato is pretty hard to refuse.
On the cocktails front, Boom Boom Room is pouring straight theatrics drawing inspiration from music legends across a wide variety of flavour palates. There’s the Fire Starter (Grey Goose, mandarin, verjuice and thyme), Cosmic Girl (umeshu, jasmine, plum and lemon) or Rude Boy (Patron Resposado, lime citrate, strawberry and champagne granita, and orange zest).
You’re basically promised dinner and a show here, with Friday and Saturday evenings playing host to chilled DJ sets, jazz performances and burlesque shows. On Thursdays, curated vinyl sessions make for the perfect post-work destination where you can kick back in the listening lounge and let the heightened energy do the rest.
Ghanem Group Music and Entertainment Manager Michael Watt said: “The new Boom Boom Room is designed for guests who want something more immersive than a bar and more personal than a nightclub,” said Ghanem Group Music and Entertainment Manager, Michael Watt. “We’ve curated an evening that evolves naturally, feels vibrant and distinctly Boom Boom Room.”
