The Verdict
Noosa’s famed tex-mex and burger joint Bordertown has come to Brisbane and we are super excited (to say the least). While Bordertown on the coast is a day and night fine dining joint, the Brisbane version has been adapted for on-the-go CBD dwellers.
Situated in Queen Street’s bustling food court, Bordertown offers delish Mexican takeaway and American style burgers to boot, and although it might be small, the restaurant has a chic modern fit out with hanging greenery, timber furniture and a painted wall by Brisbane artist Thom Stuart. Intrigued yet?
Even though it is in a food-court, Bordertown’s menu is far from basic. Think tacos full of slow-roasted duck, panko-crumbed barramundi, confit chicken or fried popcorn cauliflower (which may just be what dreams are made of), and lots of other Mexican classics like nachos and street snacks. Bordertown is also serving up a range of classic American-style burgers. We think you'd be mad to skip their famous burger, The Bordertown, which is stacked with a 100% house-made beef pattie, melted cheese, zingy relish, lettuce, tomato and a special house-made sauce.
Many of Bordertown’s ingredients are made in-store, so even some of the cheese, sauce and patties are made completely from scratch and of course their delicious AF. Bordertown offers some seriously fresh lunch options for busy CBD workers and shoppers and honestly, it's a welcomed change from the mediocre food-court fare you're used to.
