Northsiders, get ready to raise a pint in reimagined $10 million digs as Bracken Ridge Tavern unveils their mammoth new destination for dining, entertainment, and good vibes all day.

Kicking off with stage one which is now open, the suburban gem’s $10 million transformation will see the 2154sqm venue cement itself as the heart of the community, with all-new areas and renovated spaces for you to enjoy.

Inside you’ll now find Two Wise Guys: a vibrant Italian restaurant full of authentic flavour, family history, and generous plates—from the hand-rolled dough rested for 48 hours, meats sliced in-house, and pizzas fired in a custom-built oven imported from Italy. Highlight? The pepperoni vodka pizza finished with Grey Goose tomato sauce.

“Two Wise Guys is a love letter to our grandfathers, who were humble men, believing the best meals start in the soil and end at the table, surrounded by friends and family,” said co-owner of  The BRT, Chad White. “We wanted to honour their stories through food made with heart, using the best local produce and Italian know-how.”

For the early birds, Laneway Cafe is serving barista coffee, smoothies and freshly baked pastries from 7am daily, while longstanding fave Panama Jack’s will continue to serve pub classics and premium aged steaks—alongside an expanded seafood offering and a curated selection of drops with an emphasis on family-owned Australian wineries.

A lively new laneway precinct now connects the cafe, restaurant and dining area, offering a seamless flow into a garden terrace. There’s also new kids’ zones and spacious options for large groups across both the indoor and outdoor dining areas, as well as the private dining rooms. The gaming room has also received a Vegas-style glow up with live music at the Tavern every Friday and Sunday night.

“Bracken Ridge Tavern has always been about community,” said co-owner Elisabeth White, whose parents looked after The BRT for decades. “We wanted to create something that feels familiar yet unexpected, somewhere locals can still enjoy their favourite parmy, but also discover a pizza that could easily be served in Rome. This renovation is about bringing people together around good food, made properly, with a story behind it.”

Looking ahead, the next stage is set to roll out in 2026 and will introduce The Captain’s Sports Bar: a modern social hub and the place to be for big games on big screens, as well as a brand-new dedicated function room perfect for community events.

The new-look Bracken Ridge Tavern is designed to suit the needs of the evolving neighbourhood, whether it’s a morning coffee, mid-week meal with friends, or celebrating a special occasion—all with a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home. Blending contemporary design with functional hospitality planning, the transformation is led by KP Architects who also had a hand in fellow northside institutions Eatons Hill Hotel and The Belvedere.

“We’ve created a space where local families, long-time customers and new faces can come together to eat, drink, connect and celebrate, whatever the reason, whatever the time of day, all under one roof,” said Elisabeth.

Stage one of the new Bracken Ridge Tavern is now open, with final touches set to be complete by April 2026. Book here.
