Not just a fine French dining spot, Woolloongabba’s C’est Bon is practically a whole French precinct, with multiple unique spaces for drinking and dining at every time of day. Though it’s been a staple of Brisbane’s dining scene for well over 15 years, the venue has been through a few changes of hands in that time—but right now you’ll find it under the expert guidance of head chef and owner Andy Ashby, who has taken the iconic eatery to new heights.

The main offering is of course the stunning C’est Bon Restaurant, where you can tuck into creative French fare that isn’t just your usual steak frites and escargot. Regular features on Ashby’s seasonal menus include a deconstructed steak tartare and savoury creme brulee, just to give you an idea of what to expect. For the best experience, ignore the menu and opt for the five course shared menu instead—who wants to be bogged down with difficult decision making anyway?

Up a few flights of stairs you’ll find the rooftop terrace, where Ooh La La Bar awaits for pre or post-dinner drinks on Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as private events when the occasion calls for it. You can also book out the intimate wine cellar, which doubles as a private dining room when it’s not being used for one of the many delicious events on C’est Bon’s calendar.

The latest addition to C’est Bon’s line up however, is Le Bon Bagels. From 8.30am Tuesday to Saturday, Le Bon Bar, the gorgeous, arched wine bar you’ll find at the venue’s entrance, now swaps French champagne for fromage, slinging a menu of gourmet filled bagels. With a selection of toppings that includes croque monsieur, smoked trout and sausage and egg with French onion, you can pair them with coffee or a Yarra Valley Hilltops Juice for a hearty morning feed.
