Chargrill Charlie’s

Brisbane is finally getting in on the chargrilled action that Sydney and Melbourne are all about, with Queensland’s very first Chargrill Charlie’s. 

The home of award-winning chargrilled chicken, fresh salads, burgers, and rolls, what started as a community favourite on the golden shores of Sydney’s Coogee in 1989 has grown into a household name down the east coast. In fact, the spot is a frequent flyer for A-listers including Hugh Jackman, Justin Bieber, Nigella Lawson and even Oprah. 

Behind the Brisbane debut is a sweet story, as Brisbane Broncos player Jack Gosiewski and his partner Avalon McRae are opening the New Farm spot in honour of their first ever date at a Chargrill Charlie’s in Sydney. Come 2026, West End and Bulimba will also be getting their own stores. 

Dishing up home-style cooking and warm service, you can expect their famous chooks, schnitzels and BBQ drumsticks alongside rotating favourites in the salad bar and hearty finger foods—including their thick-cut chips. Their chicken and beef burgers are also a certified crowd pleaser, proving trends can come and go but clean, no-fuss comfort food is always a winner. 

Chargrill Charlie’s New Farm opens on Saturday 28 June.
