Clementine
When Freja's Cafe transformed in Elska, a fine dining restaurant, Wilston locals were understandably disappointed about the loss of the their favourite breakfast spot. But with the recent move of Elska over to New Farm, the corner space they left behind was ready to be filled with Sunday morning brunchers once again—and newbie Clementine has stepped up to the plate.
Giving the venue a fresh makeover, enclosing the previously outdoor dining area and giving the building a coat of pastel green paint but keeping the bright and airy Scanid-inspired interiors much the same, the cosy new spot will no doubt soon be overflowing on weekends once again thanks to a creative all-day breakfast menu. Standouts on the line-up include a berry ricotta hotcake piled with seasonal berries, berry gelato and raspberry caramel; and the breakfast pasta—beef cheek ragu atop fresh pappardelle with sheep’s milk pecorino.
You'll find all the classics on the menu too, from avo on toast and brioche eggs benny to a spanner crab omelette with fermented chilli. We also love that Clementine's kitchen is stocked with plenty of local goodies—think honey from Bee One Third, fresh baked bread from Brasserie and gelato from Allora Black.
