Croix Croissant Newstead

You may know them from their Hillcrest location on Brisbane’s southside, or maybe even their OG Melbourne spot, but Croix Croissant has finally blessed the inner city with their goods and we could not be happier. Landing in Newstead, this decadent bakery crafts not only the pastry classics, but also the flavourful crookies and cruffins that are all-the-age at the moment, plus a few signature creations that are a must try. 

The pastry creativity here is unmatched. We’re talking jam donut cruffins, Biscoff custard croissants and apricot Danishes filled with almond cream–it’s safe to say that checking out what’s rolling out of their ovens is a NEED, not a want. While they’ve got a few staples on the menu, such as their signature pandan pain au chocolat, almond croissants and creme brulee pastries, you’ll also find a whole new rotation of treats each month, plus the odd weekend special. 

Not a sweet tooth? Don’t worry, there’s plenty of savoury options too, including their famed cheeseburger croissant—burger patties, cheese, pickles and sauce sandwiched between a croissant roll. We’re obsessed. You can pair everything with a coffee or specialty matcha or taro latte, and there’s ample seating inside and out if you don’t want to grab and go. Just be sure to get in early before they sell out of your chosen baked good.
