Donana Mini Hotpot

Hot pot—but in sushi train form? That’s what you’ll find at Donana Mini Hotpot, Kelvin Grove’s new hotpot spot where your soup pot is brought to you by robot train and you grab fresh ingredients from a conveyor belt. Not just a novel way to dine, Donana is also here to up your hotpot game with rich flavours and more ingredients than you can possibly try in one sitting—so you’ll have to visit more than once. 

The best seats in the house here are obviously right in front of the hotpot train, though they do have overflow tables outside as well. Your first step is to choose your hotpot, which you can get with one soup base flavour or two. Flavours include the likes of spicy beef butter, tom yum and rich mixed mushroom, but there’s plenty to choose from. You’ll also order your fresh meat rolls from the QR code menu—we recommend getting the wagyu beef. 

While you wait for your pot to arrive via robot train, you can head to the sauce bar and mix up your dipping sauce, with suggested combos listed above. Once that pot is on the heat and bubbling away though, it’s time to start adding ingredients. Spinning around on the conveyor belt you’ll spot fresh vegetables, tofu and bean curds, marinated meats, seafood, multiple kinds of noodles and more. Everything is priced by colour (of course), with plates from just $2, so you can keep track of how much you’re spending. 

Finally, while they’re not licensed, you can sip on fresh fruit teas alongside your hotpot, or something from the selection of soft drinks.
