Landing in the heart of Fortitude Valley on Thursday 30 July is Eterna, a late night Italian eatery dishing up Roman fare from the venue formerly occupied by Longtime—yep, that romantic, underground spot tucked down an alleyway just off Ann Street, left empty when Longtime migrated over to James Street and became Same Same. The new eatery comes to us from the team behind Salt Meats Cheese, so you know it's going to be one to head for as soon as you can get a booking.

Eterna will be all about authentic Roman feeds—think pastas like carbonara and cacio e pepe, suppli (a street-food version of arrancini), rustic pollo alla Romana and porchetta di Ariccia, along with desserts like the delish looking crostata ricotta e visciole (ricotta and sour cherry cheesecake). It's not all about the food though—with the venue kitted out to evoke New York's late night dining scene and hidden underground bars, you can expect plenty to sip on as well, including gin martinis, Roman-style negronis, flowing wine and plenty more.
