If you haven’t already seen it all over your Tiktok, it’s time we introduced you to Evra, Newstead’s new bodega for gourmet produce, sandwiches, longevity smoothies and easy lunches from their hot and cold bar. Located in the Long Island precinct underneath TotalFusion, it’s been compared to LA’s famed Erewhon—so it could also be the new spot for Brisbane celebrity-spotting.
Though small in space, the marketplace has managed to squeeze in a hefty range of premium, locally sourced food products, from organic fruit, veg and herbs grown on their very own rooftop farm to a selection of soft cheese and ethically-sourced meats. Some of the goodies you’ll find lining the shelves include Turkish delight from Divan, terrines from City Larder, and 100-year aged vinegar. There’s even a handful of wines you can take home—or health food products like probiotic blends and super powders, if that’s more your style.
What really has everyone talking though, is the hot and cold bar where you can fill a divided takeaway box with a range of hot dishes like grass fed meatballs in tomato sauce, rotisserie chicken and mac ‘n’ cheese, hearty salads and cold extras like hummus, feta and olives. You can go as hearty or as healthy as you like, and just pay a set price per 100g once you’ve made your choices. There’s also a cabinet full of sandwiches on offer, and you can pair your chosen meal with a cold-pressed juice, superfood smoothie, kombucha or coffee.
While it’s all designed to grab and go, there’s plenty of footpath seating outside along leafy Longland Street if you want to sit and dine. Stay tuned for the neighbouring restaurant opening soon too.
