Housed behind the bright blue door on Ann Street is Finney Isles; Fortitude Valley's answer to a classy cocktail bar.

From the team that brought you Brisbane's iconic Cobbler and Savile Row (coincidently, the bar across the road with the orange door...) Finney Isles is the grown-up bar the Valley needs more of.

What makes Finney's different from all the other bars on this one stretch of espresso martini-soaked road? For starts, the boys behind the bar are passionate—probably the biggest understatement, ever—about diversifying Brisbane's bar culture, and brining something altogether more timeless to our drinking scene. The back bar is filled with dozens of boutique gins, whiskys, rums and limited release spirits, but it's their cocktails and their excellent wine list that makes Finney's stand out.

A 50-seater, Finney's is intimate, but not intimidatingly so, featuring leather sofas, parquay flooring and a hint of the team's easy-going nature; gilded big cat wallpaper (no other way to describe it, to be honest), and a tropical palm-scape adorning the wall beside the bar.

If hunger strikes, Finney offers a sharp (and plentiful) charcuterie board featuring a selection of locally sourced accompaniments that we dare say will perfectly accompany a cocktail (or five...). They've also just teamed up with their neighbours, Bird's Nest, offering a cheeky weeknight collab: $65pp gets you three cocktails and a famous Bird's Nest Bento box of sashimi, karaage, grilled oysters, skewers, croquettes and miso soup.
