The bar has been raised at this pan-Asian showstopper located at the front of West End’s West Village. After closing their doors for renovations for the last few months, Goodtime is back and better than ever with a completely revamped interior, evolved menu and elevated atmosphere. Their new aesthetic? Burgundy walls with marble detailing, globe pendant lights and 70s-reminiscent chairs paired with killer cocktails and a lengthy menu of yum cha and a la carte dishes.
A major part of the venue’s makeover was the addition of a sized-up bar, which we’re sure is the reason the cocktails went down an absolute treat. As pretty as they are drinkable, the curated list features sips like the Purple Daisy, a gin number mixed with crème de violette, elderflower liqueur, rose syrup and lemon, and the signature Have A Goodtime, with rose gin lychee liqueur, rose syrup and lime. If you’d prefer to pair a more refined drop with your meal, an extensive wine list awaits, with top picks projected onto the wall for you to easily peruse.
The drinks are the perfect match for what will surely draw the crowds here, which is the return of their all-you-can-eat deal—every Monday to Thursday for lunch and dinner you can scoff 60 minutes of all the pork xiao long bao, pan-fried gyoza, lobster crackers and piggy custard buns you can handle, plus more dishes from a dedicated menu. Best of all? It's only $29pp with any drink purchase, or you can upgrade to the boujee edition for an extra $10.
Of course, if you prefer to have more choice, you can just load up on dishes from the yum cha and a la carte menu. Start with snacks like salt and pepper corn ribs and duck pancakes before moving on to steamed options like chive and prawn dumplings and barbecue pork buns. For mains, wok dishes like si chuan popcorn chicken and 18-hour slow-cooked pork belly can be paired with truffle fried rice and seafood crispy chow mein noodle. And for dessert? Deep fried ice cream of course.
