The Verdict

Hand-crafted joy on a stick—that's what you'll find behind the glass at Happy Pops. A Noosa fave, this cute and quirky dessert bar has now landed in South Bank, just in time for a summer full of sweetness.

The brainchild of chef and maker Augusta Puttkammer and her husband Ian, Happy Pops whips up artisanal gelato and sorbet using all natural ingredients, but instead of getting it by the scoop, you'll find it moulded and frozen onto a popsicle stick, ready to top (or not) with your favourite extras. There's even vegan pops made using soy or coconut milk—or you can go all out with a brownie pop. 

Top pops include the Hokey Pokey, made with honeycomb and topped with Belgium chocolate and homemade caramel sauce, or the Fruit Pavlova with homemade pavlova, vanilla gelato, Belgium white chocolate, freeze dried raspberries and real passionfruit. Once you've got your pop, you can top it with all manner of delicious extras—think hazelnuts, M&M’s, sprinkles and nerds. All that's left to do is devour it.
