Big news for fans of the izakaya experience—your favourite Japanese hotspot just found a brand new home on James Street. Following an electric response and unrelenting demand, Hideki has arrived in its second location, bringing their unique modern Japanese dining experience to Brisbane’s iconic lifestyle precinct.

The new location takes advantage of James Street’s design-forward perspective, featuring more room and more light alongside the same sharp point of view that made their Burnett Lane restaurant an overnight sensation. Char-stained timber, hand-fired ceramics, atmospheric lighting and an eight-metre bar make for a vibe that is unmistakably Hideki; expanded in scope, without diluting tone or intention.

“This isn’t about expansion, it’s about articulation.” says co-founder Wasim Ghanem. “James Street gave us the language to express the concept in new terms, without losing an inch of who we are.”

Hideki pride themself on providing a refined experience, with signature dishes including the MBS8+Wagyu katsu curry, sliced to order and plated with surgical precision, and their refined Japanese high tea, featuring savoury bites, matcha confections, and yuzu-sparked fizz.

“The menu that won Brisbane over at Burnett Lane gave us a foundation, and now we’ve built something that feels distinct, yet unmistakably aligned with what Hideki represents. We can’t wait for guests to experience this evolution.” say Ghanem and fellow co-founder Joe Chagoury.

Hideki’s James Street location is now open. Book here.
