Loaded butter chicken fries, desi hot dogs and namaste benny? Trust us, you’ve never tried Indian food like what’s being dished up at Indian Room, who just opened their second location Milton, joining their much loved West End spot. Family-owned and run, Indian Room is all about dishing up authentic Indian cuisine with a twist—and wait until you hear the twist.
Part cafe, part restaurant, the fun here starts at brunch, which is served up from 10am-3pm Thursday to Sunday. Forget eggs on toast, instead you’ll be tucking into the likes of Indian jaffles stuffed with spiced chicken and cheese, spicy slow-cooked lamb mince on Indian bread, poached eggs and spiced chicken on waffles with curried hollandaise, and their showstopper, the Bunny Chow—hollowed out white bread filled with butter chicken, lamb curry or paneer butter masala.
Things take a turn for the more traditional on the dinner menu, though they are no less impressive. The 12-pager features everything from crispy onion bhaji and samosas to a hefty tikka selection, butter chicken momos (Nepalese dumplings), and of course, a whole lot of curries. No Indian Room feast is complete without fresh naan of course, and recommend leaving room for the gulab jamun too—sweet puffy dumplings served with ice cream.
Good to know—Indian Room also offers an entire vegan menu, with a lengthy list of street eats, entrees, curries and more.
