The award-winning West End Electric has cemented itself as a Brisbane hotspot of glamour and frivolity, and now you don’t need a theatre ticket to lean into the indulgence.
Strut & Fret (the internationally acclaimed entertainment group behind the venue) has just launched its first dedicated hospitality venture in Intermission. The Boundary Street bar and dining room is designed for arvo seshes and late-night drinks alike with a decadent drinks list, a food menu drawing on Spanish and French influences, and antique decor reminiscent of London’s West End.
The decadent cocktail list takes inspo from your favourite candy bar snacks, in the likes of the Choc Top Martini, Popcorn Sour and Malt-Pleaser. Graze on plates like burrata, peach and prosciutto-loaded crisps or loaded toasties, with the alfresco counters at the front doubling as a fabulous people watching spot while you dine. Plus, if you have tickets to the cabaret, Intermission has a secret door straight to the theatre so you can enjoy one last drink before the show begins.
“We sensed Brisbane’s appetite for more late night programming and eating-out options,” said director of Strut & Fret, Scott Maidment. “Intermission was created with a mind to bring all of this together. Much like La Dolce Vita was the cultural meeting place in the early ‘90s, Intermission can now take up that mantle with full permission to keep the good vibes rolling.”
