Brought to you by furniture store Coco Republic, who first dipped their toe into hospitality back in 2015 in Sydney, L’Americano Espresso Bar is a fresh new follow-up and Brisbane's own window into the Italian Riviera (without the 18-hour flight).
One of the first things you’ll notice is the pretty nuanced fit-out, if it looks familiar, that’s because it is, having drawn big inspiration from the 90s film The Talented Mr. Ripley. The interior oozes with the film’s Wall Street celluloid style on a whole new level, with nautical accents, olive trees, and big bistro vibes all in one. Added bonus—if you’re into the look and feel of the cafe, you can pop into the neighbouring Coco Republic showroom to shop similar furniture pieces.
As for the food, L’Americano is open for casual breakfasts, lunch, or coffee and you’ll find a please-everyone array of goods to dig into from morning through to the afternoon. While most things tick all the boxes (pasta, salads, and sandwiches, it’s the breakfast menu that will really knock your socks off.
From spelt banana bread topped with sweet ricotta to croque monsieur stuffed with double smoked ham, gruyere, dijon mustard and pickles, there's something to suit every taste. For lunch, meanwhile, we'd recommend the shared Italian board stacked with bruschetta, focaccia, olives, prosciutto, salami, marmalade, dry fruits, bocconcini buffalo cheese, gorgonzola and walnuts.
