Libertine at The Barracks, from Brisbane restaurant prodigy Andrew Baturo, has been on the scene for well over 10 years, and they do fusion like nobody's business. In fact, they are Brisbane's only French Vietnamese restaurant and they are on a serious mission to bring this refined cuisine to the masses.

Not only is Libertine a great date night option, but it's perfect for functions, with private dining areas and a menu that is just made to be shared (like Vietnamese food itself). The heritage-listed dining room, part of Brisbane's beautiful Barracks complex, is ornately decorated in a French Colonial, Bordello style. Their banquets, meanwhile, are legendary among inner-city circles, and ensure you'll leave stuffed to the brim after five to seven courses of flavoursome fare.

On a budget? They've got a deal for you—on a Tuesday night you can cop their iconic seven-course 'I'm Hungry' banquet for just $49pp instead of the usual $65pp. Eat your way through duck and giner egg rolls, lamb boulettes and lamb rump with coconut yoghurt and baby broccoli, just to name a few. They also offer up a long lunch featuring four courses for $39pp from Friday to Sunday, if that works better for your budget.

Personally though, we'd be opting for the a la carte menu, budget be damned—who can say no to pork bely mini bahn mi, king prawn croissants, Moreton Bay bug toast and the Libertine signature, twice-cooked pork belly? Best washed down with one of their Libertini cocktails, of course.
