Luckies Kitchen
Bulimba's latest arrival, Luckies Kitchen, is all about playful Cantonese food, dishing up Southeast Asian flavours in a vibrant setting. Landing on buzzing Oxford Street, the eatery is decidedly casual, featuring hanging lanterns, neon lighting and colourful posters on the walls.
On the easy-to-navigate menu you'll find a selection of snacks, small plates, large plates, and noodles and rice, ready to mix and match for a shared feast. Start with prawn crackers with spicy salt and squid ink mayo before tucking into Sichuan peppery fried calamari and drunken chicken salad. On the larger side, smoked teriyaki katsu eggplant meets sweet and sour pork with charred pineapple, demonstrating more than just Chinese flavours have influenced the menu here, while the Luckies special fried rice with spanner crab is a must order to pair with it all.
While you feast, you can sip on inventive sips that have taken the 'playful' theme and run with it—think Vietnamese coffee-inspired espresso martinis, bubble tea cocktails and concoctions topped with floating rubber duckies. There's also a range of local wines and craft beers if you're too grown up for such nonsense.
