The Ipswich CBD has scored a gorgeous new laneway wine bar and restaurant where you can enjoy a glass of red over Mediterranean-inspired share plates and wood-fired pizzas. With stunning interiors that wouldn’t look out of place on a cobbled European street and a cosy undercover laneway perfect for date night hangs, Monte Lane is worth a visit whether you’re an Ipswich local or not. 

After you’ve secured a glass of something fancy from the wine list, which features everything from moscato to pet nat, you can nibble your way through bites like cheese and charcuterie boards, crispy roasted potatoes and burrata with figs, prosciutto, pomegranate and crostino. There’s a hearty steak on the menu for the extra hungry, or you can also opt for wood-fired slice from Mike’s Pizza right next door. 

Not a wine drinker? Don’t worry, Monte Lane also shakes up a killer cocktail list, and has a constantly rotating line up of beers on tap.
