Set to bloom on the bustling Annerley Road in Dutton Park on Monday 2 December, Nos. Bakehouse & Café is a delightful blend of nostalgia, innovation, and charm. Once an abandoned photo house, this space has been lovingly transformed by co-owner and pastry chef Susan Koh into a cosy, vintage-inspired space complete with a sunny garden area and the heavenly aroma of house-made goodies wafting from the dual kitchens—one dedicated to baking and the other crafting a savory menu that’s anything but ordinary.

From the striking mural adorning the exterior to the delicate floral garnishes on each dish, every detail reflects the café’s signature theme. The menu is a true showcase of Koh and her team’s culinary creativity, featuring standout treats like the twice-baked chocolate cake layered with Speculoos jam and paired with a Seville orange crème anglaise, an ube burnt cheesecake, and their signature fried "Dossant."

For something light there's the sandos, made with house baked Shokupan bread and your choice of either tuna mayo and caramelised onion, garden salad or Japanese egg and mayo filling. Decadent brunch seekers are more than sorted here though, with options like cinnamon French toast topped with baked crème brûlée and house-made Graham cracker crumbs.

Post-midday you can choose from lunch options like 24-hour slow-cooked braised beef ribs served with creamy whipped kennebec potatoes and roasted greens, and a chilled soba noodle bowl with Spanish vegetable consommé and plum jelly, housemade pickles and seafood. Complete the experience with one of their unique beverages—a crème brûlée iced long black or lavender iced latte goes down a treat—and you’ll discover why Nos. is already one of our new favourite Brisbane cafes.
