bao buns and fillings on a plate

Not content with just having one of Brisbane’s best cafes in their repertoire, the team behind Farmhouse in Kedron have opened a Southeast Asian kitchen and bar, Oh Boy Bok Choy. It might be in the ‘burbs, but this delicious spot could rival any inner city eatery with their flavourful incarnations of dishes from Vietnam, China, Malaysia and Thailand.

Take a seat in the simple but sophisticated dining room and prepare yourself for a feast of small plates, curries, noodles and rice dishes. You can kick things off with seasoned corn riblets and prawn toast, but the real MVP of the entree dishes is the MYO bao buns—a platter of crispy mushroom, sticky pork or tempura porn with buns, pickled salad herbs and dressings so you can make your own bao.

For the bigger dishes there’s the likes of whisky tamarind pork belly with grilled watermelon salad, satay roast pumpkin curry and spiced tonkatsu sauce lamb ribs, to pair with sides of rice, wok tossed green beans and roti bread. Can’t decide? Just opt for the banquet and let the kitchen choose for you. Bonus, Oh Boy Bok Choy is fully licensed and has plenty of pan-Asian inspired cocktails on the menu to sip your way through.
