Just one step into Olive Thyme will transport you across the globe to the ancient lands of Turkey, where you’ll be wowed by the time-honoured culinary traditions of the Mediterranean. The restaurant’s heritage-listed digs create an authentic ambience, and their leadlight glass trimmings, Turkish ceramics and colourful cushions only add to the appeal.
Everything from Olive Thyme’s dips to desserts is made in-house, guaranteeing guests a fresh, quality Turkish meal. All of their entrée platters and desserts are on display at the counter—but trust us, seeing the spread in all its glory only makes it harder to choose. Their menu is full of delicious traditional dishes with a modern twist, like beyti (hand ground lamb, pita bread, charred capsicum sauce, buryan pilav and natural yoghurt) and imam bayildi (eggplant, caramelised onion, red peppers, quinoa and soft cheese). Anything you order is sure to tickle your tastebuds, but be sure to save room for Olive Thyme’s hand rolled hazelnut baklava, which comes topped with artisan hazelnut gelato and candied hazelnut—it’s even better than it sounds.
