One Fish Two Fish
The Verdict
Positioned right on the corner of Main Street in Kangaroo Point, One Fish looks like a paper lantern from the street. Inside, the refurbished Queenslander retains a homey sense of comfort against the fresh, white decor, and feels like something closer to a small beachside bar with plenty of window seating and natural light.
While they can certainly do a banging fish and chips, their menu is a far-reaching exploration of seafood classics and doesn’t really adhere to any particular theme or perspective beyond making sure that fresh seafood is clearly represented throughout their entire menu. Chippy classics like calamari rings, crumbed whiting, and battered cod get a flash new revamp (with some sexy potato scallops on the side), but One Fish also conjures the Amalfi coast with their seafood risotto, Southern California with Cajun fish tacos, and Oahu beaches with their refreshing poke salad.
