a plate of mushroom arancini

For all the vegan, vegetarian and dairy-intolerant foodies out there looking for a new place to brunch, we’ve found your next weekend pitstop. Over on Racecourse Road in Hamilton, Pancha is a haven for all things plant-based, and you’re going to want to try it out. As soon as you walk into this homely, welcoming cafe you’ll be greeted by a mix of eclectic vintage décor with plenty of pops of colour. Though small, the tiny cafe has tables inside and out, so you shouldn't have to wait too long for a seat.

Take a look at the menu and you’ll find that just about everything is calling out your name. Combining a melting pot of cultures and flavours, you can choose from beakfast dishes like the fluffy soufflee vegan pancakes with grilled bananas, seasonal fruit and vegan ice cream if you decide to add it, or more lunch-friendly options like the mushroom san choy bow served in crisp lettuce cups. Then there’s our pick—the decadent croffle: a mouth-watering vegan croissant toasted into waffle form and loaded up with your choice of chocolate sauce and caramelised bananas or peanut butter and blueberry coulis.

Best of all, Pancha has just launched evening service every Friday and Saturday night from 5pm. Head in for dinner and you can feast on the likes of crisp mushroom arancini balls, green curry croquettes, black fungus and tofu dumplings and hearty Thai massaman curry with tofu, tempeh and potato. There's even a vegan drink menu to enjoy, with a smattering of cocktails, beers and wines to sip.
