New Farm might be surrounded by water, but it's been lacking in somewhere to get a classic serving of fish and chips to eat by the river—until now. Landing in Methyr Village, Piranha Fish Cafe comes to us from the previous owners of the iconic Double Shot Espresso, who've ditched the brunch scene to embrace fresh seafood instead.
While you can order and take your feast of battered fish, crispy calamari and golden chips down to New Farm Park to eat, the cafe has a pretty cosy dining room, outfitted in nautical shades of blue and aqua. Nab a table and you can tuck into share boards piled with all your favourite fish and chippery eats, freshly shucked oysters, buckets of prawns and fish tacos, or even get a little fancy with the likes of spiced grilled fish or green fish curry.
Bonus, the chilled eatery is currently BYO, so grab a four pack of beers or a bottle of wine and bring it with you.
