Not content with opening just one new venue inside Queen’s Wharf, the Tassis Group is opening two, with French-inspired Pompette joining Dark Shepherd on The Terrace, alongside other sibling venues across Brisbane like Opa, Fosh, Rich & Rare and Massimo, just to name a few. This relaxed champagne bar and restaurant is dishing up modern interpretations of traditional French dishes in a stunning, Parisian-inspired space complete with a leafy alfresco area and three private dining rooms.

Perched at the end of the Neville Bonner bridge, Pompette boasts some spectacular river views, making it the perfect spot for an afternoon drink at the 16-metre long marble bar, where you can sip champagne while you knock back oysters shucked to order. Adding an extra touch of sophistication to the experience is the caviar menu, which you can even order with a side of frozen Ariana vodka (another Tassis Group creation).

Heading inside, to where pops of blush pink, brushed brass and navy blues dominate the UNITA-created fit out across the sophisticated indoor dining area, here you can wine and dine on a menu that’s traditional haute cuisine-inspired, but reimagined for a more relaxed experience. Start with the likes of gruyere souffle, escargots and sand crab salad before moving on to steak frites, toothfish with bouillabaisse sauce and fennel fondue and large plates like canard à l’orange and boeuf filet en croûte.

Dessert is all about the classics, with crème brûlée, crêpes suzette and baba rhum all on the menu, or you can hit the fromage section. Being half champagne bar, Pompette naturally has an impressive drinks selection on offer too, including over 40 kinds of French champagne, a 150-strong wine list and a hefty selection of signature cocktails, spritzes, beers, ciders and seltzers.
