If you find yourself in the Ipswich area, Pumpyard Bar is worth the visit for an ice cold beer and a gourmet pub feed. Whether you opt for relaxed, outdoor dining beneath festoon lights during the summer or bar tables inside the brewery in the cooler months, Pumpyard has something for everyone.

Right in the centre of Ipswich, Pumpyard gets its name from the site’s original use as the source of water for for the area. The venue has kept its heritage with exposed brick walls and an industrial feel,  not to mention the row of gleaming silver tanks you can see brewing up beers for the onsite craft brewery, 4 Hearts Brewing, which you'll also find on tap behind the bar.

At the heart of Pumpyard is head chef, Shawn Breen, who’s food philosophy is simply tasty food, done well—and of course made to pair perfectly with your drink of choice. With his passion for Southern American BBQ and all the classic comfort foods it’s no surprise his menu features a 16-hour low and slow smoked bbq brisket served with garlic mash or smokey bbq ribs served with fries and slaw. But of course, you can also get other classics including steak sandwiches, stuffed cobb, loaded pizzas, fish and chips and burgers. Plus, on Sunday arvos you’ll find local artists bringing the good tunes and good vibes with live music.
