Ramen Danbo has come a long way from their origins in Chikushino, on one of Japan’s southern islands. After opening their first store in 2000, news of their supreme noodles spread to the rest of the island, then the entire country, and these days Ramen Danbo is an international sensation. At their Pimpama store, they’re breaking the internet once again with Australia’s first drive thru ramen, where you can now grab a bowl of tonkotsu on the run.
While their signature tonkotsu pork broth with all the fixings is the main star of their menu, Ramen Danbo also dishes up variations like shoyu, tantanmen, negi-goma, miso and even a soupless number, with vegan and vegetarian options available. You can customize your order with extra noodles and toppings like bean sprouts, bamboo shoots and chunky chashu pork, and add on sides of gyoza and karaage strips if you’re extra hungry.
If you like your ramen hot and steaming straight out of the kitchen, you can of course take a seat in their minimalist dining room—the stools overlooking the chefs behind the counter are perfect for solo dining. But for those who want to slurp in private, the drive thru is open now and ready to take your order.
