COVID-19 Update: With dining in back on the cards as of Saturday 16 May, Rogue Bistro is opening its doors to group bookings of 5 to10 people—with you and your crew the only people in the restaurant. That's right, from Thursday to Sunday you can book out the entire restaurant, and have a private dinner party where someone else does the cooking (and cleaning).
On the menu, you can opt for either a six course degustation or shared feast of Rogue favourites, with a bar menu available as well. There is a minimum spend of $500-1000 depending on which night of the week you book, but for the rare chance to take over an entire restaurant and support a local business while you do it, we say that's a bargain.
You can still grab a takeaway Rogue feed seven nights a week if your budget isn't quite there however, though if you're planning on getting brunch you'll want to be quick—the team have announced that Sunday 24 May will be the last brunch service they dish up.
If you are planning a night out, check out the group dining menu and make a booking here.
Rogue is the brainchild of owner and chef Daniel Myers together with partner Rach Myers, and serves up Modern Australian cuisine in a relaxed, inviting environment, giving diners the opportunity to eat great food, without having to dine fine. After a 2020 makeover (longtime fans will know Rogue has been around for a while), the venue is looking better than ever, with a luxe all black interior and enclosed front patio providing a intimate escape from the industrial strip on Austin Street outside.
Step through the sliding door which tells you to 'slide to go rogue' and be seated for a dining experience with a difference. An all new refined dinner menu will change each month, but for now features old favourites like pork belly morsels with endive, peanut butter and fennel marmalade, and inventive new dishes like miso torched salmon and fish crackling. Can't decide, despite the shorter menu? Just opt for 'The Faves,' which gets you six courses for $85pp, or 'The Feast,' and all out extravaganza of every main and side to share between 2–3 people for $130.
Vegans and vegos will be happy to know there's a dedicated menu each for them as well, and frankly, we'd happily go in just for a bowl of Rogue's fried brussel sprouts in ponzu glaze. The drinks list has also had a refresh, with plenty of new cocktails to drink your way through, and BYO nights from Tuesday to Thursday.
