Brisbane is no stranger to a stunning rooftop escape, and the latest addition to the stable is proving to be all that and so much more.
Ruma is a new rooftop bar and restaurant arriving at New Farm’s Little Lane, striking the perfect balance between homely comfort and sophisticated charm. It comes from the group behind Kangaroo Point’s Sunsets Rooftop, and will also serve as a lush oasis above the hustle and bustle—decked out in stone and terracotta tones, draped linen, woven textures and subtle island references.
“Hospitality for us has always been about bringing people together around food, good music, long tables and shared moments,” said Daniel Tuivaiti of 27 Hospitality Group. “Ruma is a reflection of that, our island heritage, love for getting together and the feeling of walking into a space that instantly makes you exhale.”
From the palm trees to the plush booths and the chef’s counter where you can watch chef Felipe Oliveira (previously of Tassis Group) work his magic, a visit to Ruma is like hitting the refresh button. Golden hour is when the venue particularly comes alive, embracing aperitif time with its vibrant cocktails and intentional food pairings.
“Our cocktail menu leans into citrus, fresh herbs and refined island notes, with house signatures that are vibrant yet balanced,” said Tuivaiti. “[It] has been curated to feel like a getaway in a glass—bright, tropical and effortlessly relaxed.”
Ruma is expected to open on 20 March.
