Salt Meats Cheese

Salt Meats Cheese—the iconic deli and restaurant from Sydney—has finally set up permanent digs in Newstead. Residing in the gorgeous Haven development, SMC has brought their famous pizza ovens up the coast, so that us locals can get a taste of what everyone raves about.

Home to incredible pizzas, pastas (yes, of course they do pasta in a flaming cheese wheel), Salt Meat Cheese serves up some of the most authentic Italian this side of the Mediterranean. The decor is nothing to sniff at either; with floor-to-ceiling retractable glass doors spilling out onto the sidewalk, a large bar directly across serving up all your Italian cocktail and aperitif faves.

The real drawcard to this Italian spot though is the epic special events they're always hosting. Think lasagne nights, brie wheel spaghetti nights, vegan degustations and cooking classes—there's always something delicious happening, so be sure to check their what's on page on the regular.
