Set among the hustle and bustle of South Bank Parklands, Southbeach has recently dreamt up a delicious new dining and bar experience for lucky punters. Expect an all-new fit-out, a fresh menu and creative cocktails.  

This is exactly what we would call beachside bliss. Your social session is set to the backdrop of iconic Streets Beach vistas, as well as the Brisbane River and cityscape. The decor itself is equally dreamy, with comfy cabana-style seating, lush hanging plants and vibrant pops of colour. The mandate here is simple: good vibes only. 

Once you and your crew pull up a chair, it’s only up from here. Usually, we’d suggest diving into the dishes, but at Southbeach, you just have to start with cocktails. Transport yourself to a tropical island with the coconut lime margarita, a white peach daiquiri or both. There’s no rush, we’ve got alllll afternoon. 

Pair your perfect tipple with a selection of easygoing bites from their refreshed menu. There are plenty of share-plates; think Korean fried chicken or cauliflower, tiger prawns with harissa mayo, smoked duck breast charcuterie and paprika halloumi fries. Vegans can dive into a spiced jackfruit burger or the Jerusalem artichoke agnolotti—drool. 

On the flip side, there’s also a stellar selection of larger plates like the flavourful Sambal pork, the Chinese braised beef ribs or a beachy classic, fish and chips with tempura battered barramundi. Plus, to really deliver on those relaxed summer feels, the team here set the scene with live music every Friday through Sunday.
