The Verdict
Fanging for good quality Greek nosh on the west side? Well, look no further then the newly opened Stavros The Greek, ready to treat you right.
The mastermind behind Kenmore foodie joints Pizzeria Violetta and Sichuan Bang Bang—we're looking at you, Renata Roberts—is blessing us with another restaurant in yet another cuisine and we are not worthy. If you are not familiar with these Brisbane dining icons, please acquaint yourself. Those that are—great! You know that Stavros The Greek is going to be insane.
Expect polished concrete, high ceilings and a clean, crisp colour palette at Stavro (minus the stereotypical Greek-themed decor save for a splash of crisp blue furnisings). The menu focuses on doing the Greek classics right, which is the amazing style that we’re obsessed with from Roberts and her team.
From classic yiros using a house-made, woodfire oven pitas, stuffed with your choice of charcoal chicken, beef or lamb, and of course hot chips(!) to Stavros soon-to-be iconic souvlaki pork belly, chicken thigh and lamb leg, with prawns, WA sardines and charred octopus avail straight from the charcoal. Don't forget to order yourself a serving of their freshly made baclava—because why on earth would you pass on dessert?
