Modern Thai flavours reaching new heights? Yep, that’s what you can expect at Fortitude Valley’s stunning new rooftop restaurant, TABOO—a monochrome olive green oasis for morning meals and evening escapades alike.

The sister venue of Mr Vain, TABOO is sitting pretty atop The Constance Hotel, decked out in dark timbers and sculpted planting  to create an experience that’s moody, sophisticated and utterly irresistible. Kicking off with the first stage of a three-phase launch, TABOO is now open for breakfast—reimaging Thai flavours across staple dishes like Thai eggs benedict with pork belly, crispy roti and red curry hollandaise or silky scrambled eggs with Mooloolaba prawns and red curry butter. Prefer to start your day on a sweet note? The whipped coconut cream pancakes with salted Thai coffee caramel will do the trick, or try the maple lime French toast on thick-cut brioche glazed with kaffir lime and fresh berries.

For those who like to leave it to the pros, the $59 chef-curated Brunch Club Banquet is a share-style experience that doubles as a sneak preview of what you can expect on TABOO’s upcoming lunch and dinner offering. We’re talking the likes of freshly shucked oysters with nam jim granita, kingfish and green mango ceviche, Crying Tiger wagyu striploin, and mango and coconut sago pudding.

The specialty drinks menu has also received the Thai treatment, with basil matcha, house-made juices, and stellar brews by ST. Ali Coffee.

The much-anticipated opening hit major delays because of Cyclone Alfred, but we can already tell the rooftop sanctuary was worth the wait. Stay tuned for more details on the smoky flavours, layered spices and progressive cocktails on the cards for lunch and dinner at TABOO. Book here.
