Sunnybank has just scored a fresh marketplace of seasonal produce, Asian groceries and Japanese grab-and-go meals that doubles as an absolute stunner with terracotta marble counters, curved architectural ceilings and warm timber accents.

Bring extra bags to Tetra Fresh Grocer, because they’re brimming with fruit and vegetables sourced locally from Southeast Queensland where it’s best, and imported when the quality is genuinely better elsewhere. There are Erdon lychees and American cherries grown in Washington State, fresh durian flown in from Thailand, plus specialty dragonfruit and mangosteens. The mushroom range is also a sight to behold, grown locally by Urban Valley Farm (who also provide the goods to some of your favourite restaurants) and presented in a live mushroom garden on weekends.

The offering reflects the community it serves, with a curated selection of specialty imports and pantry staples, plus house-made kimchi and pickles made fresh in-store. And if exploring the aisles has you drooling on the spot, make sure you check out the full Japanese section with the likes of sushi, rice bowls (yes, there’s mango sticky rice), and heat-and-eat meals prepared each morning.
