If James Street is known for anything, it's high-end fashion brands and an iconic dining scene, so it's no surprise New Zealand label Rodd & Gunn is combining both for its flagship Brisbane store, The Lodge Bar and Dining. Direct from Queenstown to Queensland, The Lodge Bar and Dining is an Australian first which melds fashion, food, and wine in the perfect blend of luxury and style.
Located in a heritage Queenslander on James Street, the store could be considered an interior design lovers' oasis which showcases American oak wood flooring, wool rugs, a bespoke wine bar, and even a flagstone feature wall. With a maximum capacity of 150 guests, the venue's multiple spaces such as the corner bar with banquette seating, vibrant dining room, or the level one bar (which includes panoramic views of James Street) are available to be booked for a range of events.
Fashion and interiors aside, the food menu, created by globally renowned Executive Chef Matt Lambert offers a modern take on timeless classics and sources only the finest locally produced ingredients. In another perfect pairing for Rodd & Gunn, New Zealand's only Master Sommelier, Cameron Douglas has crafted the ideal wine list to match the array of delectable dishes on the menu.
Just after a few drinks and snacks? Check out their new miniBAR offering, which pairs Lambert's chef artistry with the expertise of Master Mixologist Matt Bax in creative ways. With three sigature martinis and two unique 'Not Martini' cocktails on the menu, you can get them in either classic or mini sizes and pair them with one of five miniBAR snacks designed to match. If you want to take things to the next level though, you can opt for the 'Martini Now' tasting menu, which includes each of the five cocktails matached with five carefully crafted bites—think a classic dry gin paired with market oysters and a 'Moreton Bay' martini featuring vodka, seaweed salt, vermouth and botanicals paired with Moreton Bay 'bug rolls.
