The Details

stationery brisbane

If your inner stationery geek revels in the smooth, blank-paged glory of a gorgeous new notebook, if organising all the pretty details of an event is your jam, or if you secretly actually love gift-wrapping, The Paper Empire might just be your personal, paper-tastic heaven on earth.

After opening the doors of its Melbourne location in 2003, owner and original Brisbanite Emily Anthon followed her dream and recently launched a second The Paper Empire retail store in our beloved James Street in New Farm.

Emily, who’s been stationery-obsessed since she was little, is all about beautiful paper and what it represents in our digital age of emails, social media and throwaway instant messages: love, care, and thoughtfulness—something you can touch and keep. In our hectic online world, we’re totally on board with the fact that paper invitations, carefully wrapped gifts, and hand-written thank you notes are made all the more special.

The Paper Empire is a legit treasure trove of beautiful stationery, invitations, books, cards, little gifts, wrapping paper, and heaps of super-cute bits and pieces. Along with their two retail stores, they also have a design studio, an online store, and occasional pop-ups and creative workshops. If you’ve got a special event coming up, there’s a huge range of gorgeous invitations to choose from for any budget, or they can work with you to create a custom design all your own.

Visit The Paper Empire and get ready to fall in love (and start sending a lot more things by snail mail!).
