The Verdict
Perched high on a mountain top in the Scenic Rim, Spicers Peak Lodge has arguably the best views in Queensland (fact: views make food taste x20 times better) and definitely one of the best restaurants: The Peak.
The two-hatted restaurant has recently welcomed new head chef, Minh Le—of Foraging Quail and Deer Duck Bistro fame—into the fold to shake up their menu. His wealth of experience brings a slew of deliciously moreish new menu offerings, such as the ocean trout with fennel, burnt lime, radish and sea parsley, or the duck breast with quandong, sour cherry, chestnut, young carrots, and leek. The brûlée French toast for breakfast is like nothing you've ever tasted before (just saying).
The Peak is a cacophony of Australian flavours paired with traditional cooking technique—it’s basically the best of Australia on a plate.
