If you always feel a bit lost when you’re handed a wine list, the CBD’s new wine bar is just the place to get better acquainted with different varieties and find out what you like. Wineology has brought a whole new way of wine drinking to Brisbane, with the option to taste a heap of wines before you commit to a glass, thanks to state of the art Enomatic wine dispensing machines.

With 96 different vinos to sample on offer, you’re pretty much guaranteed to find something you like—just keep heading back to the self-serve dispensing machines, with pricing based on the size of your pour. If you happen to be a connoisseur who already knows what they like, there’s even more wine available by the glass and the bottle, which you can either pop there in the atmospheric venue or take home to drink at your leisure.

To accompany the drops, a menu of tapas and sharing plates designed for pairing has been crafted by chef Carlen Uphill. Nibble on the likes of Cinghiale ravioli with spinach, leek, basil, house made ricotta, herb oil, and tomato wild boar ragu; charred chorizo with honey, pistachio dirt, ricotta, and herbs, or just the house bread with confit garlic and smoked tomato butter. They go equally well with one of the classic cocktails on the menu, just in case you’re not a wine drinker.
